End-to-end delivery

From first requirement to production, one engineer

Most projects stall in the hand-offs between analyst, architect, developers, QA and DevOps. I cover every stage myself, so nothing gets lost between them and you have one person accountable for the result.

01 / 06 · Requirements

Understand the problem before writing code

I work with you and your users to pin down what's slow, manual or broken, what success looks like, and what's out of scope.

What I do

  • Stakeholder and user interviews
  • User flows and edge cases
  • Prioritised scope with acceptance criteria

You get

  • Requirements doc
  • User stories
  • Fixed-price scope

Architecture

Problem first. Stack second.

Because I work across requirements, backend, frontend, data, AI, QA and DevOps, I design the whole system, not one layer of it: the right tools for your team, built to hold up as usage grows.

01

Any stack, the right stack

I start from the bottleneck in your business, not from a favourite framework. Backend, frontend, data or AI, I pick tools your team can run and maintain, and work in the stack you already have when that's the sensible call.

  • Python
  • TypeScript / Node
  • C++
  • SQL
  • R
  • Cypher

02

Solution & system design

Architecture that's written down before it's built: components, data flow, failure modes, trade-offs and a cost model. I designed and wrote a System Design course at Educative, and I use the same thinking on client work.

  • Architecture docs
  • API design
  • Data modelling
  • Trade-off reviews

03

Scalable & distributed

Systems that keep working when traffic, data or team size grows. Queues and idempotent workers, streaming and batch pipelines, caching, and backpressure, so one slow dependency can't take down everything else.

  • Kafka
  • Spark
  • Hadoop / MapReduce
  • Airflow
  • NiFi
  • Celery

04

Cloud, DevOps & monitoring

Tested, containerised and shipped through CI/CD on AWS, Azure or GCP, with logs, metrics and alerts from day one. Global finalist in the Huawei ICT Competition (Cloud Track), Azure AZ-900 and AI-900 certified.

About

One engineer, the whole lifecycle

I'm Muhammad Usman Malik, a full-stack software engineer and solutions architect in Islamabad. I've spent five years shipping production systems: national platforms for Saudi Arabia's Ministries of Health and Justice, an LLM-powered legal assistant, and the products I co-founded at Grootcore.

I'm a problem solver first. I gather requirements, design the system, build the backend, frontend, data and AI pieces, test it, deploy it and monitor it, in whatever stack fits. Day to day I build LLM guardrails at 10Pearls; for clients I ship MVPs, platforms, internal tools and AI products that hold up in production, not just in a demo.

Your mornings are my evenings if you're in the US. I share the working day with the UK and keep the same hours as the Gulf.

  • Policy management APIs to define, version and enforce safety rules across LLM providers.
  • Automated red-teaming and evaluation pipelines to cut false positives.

FAQ

Questions founders ask

Do you only work on AI projects?

No. AI is one of my strengths, but most of my work is full-stack product engineering: web apps, APIs, data pipelines, payments, integrations and the cloud infrastructure underneath. I add AI where it earns its place, not by default.

Can you take a product from idea to launch on your own?

Yes. I gather requirements, design the system, build the backend, frontend, data and AI pieces, write the tests, set up CI/CD and cloud hosting, and monitor it after launch. For larger builds I can bring in a designer or extra engineers and lead them.

What tech stack do you work with?

Whatever fits the problem and your team. Most often Python (Django, FastAPI), Node.js and TypeScript, React, Next.js and Vue, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis, Docker and Kubernetes, on AWS, Azure or GCP. If you already have a stack, I work in it.

How do you price projects?

Fixed price for a fixed scope, agreed before work starts. Retainers are a flat monthly fee for a set number of hours. Projects are 50% upfront and 50% on handover.

You're in Islamabad. How does the time difference work?

I work your mornings when you're in the US (my evenings), overlap most of the day with the UK, and keep the same hours as the Gulf. Updates are async and daily, with a live demo every week.

Who owns the code?

You do. Intellectual property transfers to you on final payment, and everything is deployed to your own accounts.

Which AI models do you use?

Whatever fits the job and your constraints: Claude, GPT, open-source models, or a mix. I'll explain the trade-offs in cost, latency and privacy before we choose.

Can you work with my existing team?

Yes. I regularly join existing codebases, follow your conventions and review process, and hand over cleanly when the work is done.

How do I pay?

Bank wire or Payoneer, invoiced in USD at each milestone.

Have a product to build or a system to fix?

Tell me about the problem. You'll get a reply within one business day with what's possible, what it costs and how long it takes, whether or not we work together.
